As Poo entered the Moonside Museum of Natural History, he was amazed at the splendor of the neon-colored dinosaur fossils. "No time for sightseeing," Poo reminded himself. He headed to the far left side of the museum, but found no door. Could I be wrong? Poo thought. Suddenly, a gas station thing came up to Poo. "You-have-not-paid-for-your-ticket," it said before hurling a bomb at Poo. A split second before it hit him, Poo leaped out of the way. The bomb blew a hole in the wall. Inside the wall was a manhole. "Ah ha! This is it!" Poo declared as he climbed into the manhole.
Man, I really enjoy Poo's posts. I don't remember him being very good at IF, but he was.
What Poo found inside the manhole was a bright colored sewer filled with bright colored enemies. Of course, the enemies were tiny little creatures that Poo could kill with a stomp of the foot.
Again, Liyoshi should take notes on this expert handling of random battles.
Soon, he made it to the shining spot. "Welcome to this is not the Sanctuary location. Would you not like to challenge me? Or wouldn't you like to?" asked the Eugalp Art fo Mood (Plague Rat of Doom)
It's not funny if you have to explain it. Also, you meant Tar, not Art.
Poo started off the battle with a "PK Freeze!" The Rat brushed it off. "This is no way to do it," Poo said to himself. So Poo pulled out a giant mousetrap, and clapped it on the Rat. It fell over and died as Poo walked up to claim the Magnet Hill melody. "I got the melody!" Poo yelled excitedly.
Poo is awesome. I would spend four straight days reading 1,600 posts' worth of IF written by this guy. Or maybe reading all this Gathering has just dramatically lowered my standards?

Chris had been crossing Lake Tess on his way to the south of the continent of Winters when it happened. At first, it was a simple glowing of light in the sky, followed by a soft murmur. Seconds later, destruction rained from the heavens. Thousands of stars poured down from the sky onto some location in the southern part of Winters, and a great flash lit the night sky like daylight.
For a 16 year old that's pretty good writing. Give Chris his due on that, even if he was as obsessive as Tengu Man.
He was so stunned at the display that he could only sit, staring stupidly at the water below him, and the skies above. After several minutes, he slowly came out of his trance and realized he had reached the southern coast. About then, he saw a lone figure coming in his general direction. Before long, he saw that it was Juliana.
In Chris's world, Juliana is always coming in his general direction.
"Did you see that?!?" Chris exclaimed upon seeing her.

"Yeah, I saw it. I did it. I realized a PSI power." she replied in a humbled manner.
Humble. Also: Juliana is a PSI power.
"You...re...alized...PSI...oh."

And with that, Chris fell back into the boat, fainting at the stunning idea.

Several minutes later, he came around again, and realized that Juliana was guiding the boat back towards northern Winters.
Truth be told, Juliana would probably feel too bad about leaving Chris behind to freeze to death even if that was her first impulse, so his story holds up so far.
She explained how she had wound up against a Frost Wolf, and had prayed that something deliver her from death, and how suddenly, words had come from her mouth, and that she had caused all the comets to rain on the earth.

"Wow. I still can't believe that it actually exists. And I guess I'm a bit jealous; you discovered psychic powers before me. Still, that's incredible." Chris said after Juliana finished her little narrative.
Also give Chris credit for being apparently the only person in this thread to correctly identify PSI skills as psychic, not magic.
"So, where should we go now?" she asked.

"Well, on the one hand, this discovery of PSI is incredible, and perhaps we should persue it further.
You keep on after her the way you've been and she will probably end up providing another display, so yes, that's an option.
On the other hand, we've both had a brush with death now, and perhaps we might want to return to the outer island where it is safe. I guess it depends on what you want to do."
Man, can PSI322 really pull off yet another PSI322 gambit? It's a standoff now. Who's going to be the first to give in?

As Osman, Falcon, Alan, and Siris walked away from the Giygan ship, they pondered on what to do next. All of them had claimed the ninth melody.

However, Osman felt unhappy. He was entirely envious at the fact that Falcon and the others had enormous powers. PSIOsman had his swordsmanship skills, but that was far from supernatural.
OK... this is a little odd. PSIOsman must know that he can write himself superpowers anytime he wants to. The obvious next thing in this post would be him writing himself in some superpowers.
"Isn't it always the way," he thought to himself. "I'm never the one to get anything... sigh."

Suddenly, the Scimitar in his hand flared with blue light. Falcon, Siris, and Alan shielded their eyes from its enormous luminescence.
Pay the man!
The melody from the ninth sanctuary sounded extremely loudly, but only in Osman's mind. The light from the blade engulfed him. Suddenly, Osman understood. The reason why the sword had traveled with him to Magicant, had stayed with him even in the mind of Falcon...

The Scimitar was an extension of him. It was almost a sentient being, and it was linked to Osman in whatever destiny befell him.
We all realized that pretty much the first time you described it, really. This is not a new superpower.
The Scimitar was a conduit through which immensely powerful energy flowed, a conduit that Osman had control of. He had realized the true power of himself and the Scimitar of PSI.

(that may have been a rather pointless post, but I just wanted to give myself some extra power, seeing all those new-fangled PSI moves and powers)
He says that like we don't know.

(PSIOsman, don't be so jealous[I can't tell if you are], I'll forget all of those powers except Rainy Circle when this duel ends, whoever is the victor[I'm not commanding, simply informing])
Yeah, and you'll assign yourself fifty even more ridiculous superpowers. Can't wait to see what God Mode hijinks await us in this post!
Tim had to use Ally Teleport alot to evade Mani Mani's attacks. "Finally, some free time," Tim said, after succeding in Hypnosis on the Statue.
"Defense Up! Speed Up! Offense Up!(gee I love these Assist spells)Physical Shield(Power)!" Tim shouted.
Tim is definitely a budding D&D munchkin. I hope he realized his destiny before his youth was spent.
This awoke Mani Mani, and they engaged in the fierce battle once more.Tim quickly scarfed on a magic truffle which was provided by the Apple of Enlightment before the battle.PP Recovered, his HP dropped from a sword blow. "Life Up Beta!" Tim said.He then clashe dswords with the Statue, until realizing it had just copied itself 3 times."Now which one is real?" Tim asked himself. He was bashed from behind, and turned to attack nothing."Enemy Teleport!" Tim said, hearding all the Statues into one corner. He hit all of them with Rain, and found the central one to be real. He quickly Hydro Slashed it. "PSI Haze! PSI Starstorm!" Tim shouted one after another.
I don't know what to say anymore without repeating things I've already said twenty times. Nobody is reading this stuff. Let's just leave him alone. I can't remember the last time Tim posted anything that didn't involve him showing off his AC God Mode.

Juliana became very hesitant.
Yeah... I act surprised.
"Well, the whole reason I came here was to have fun, and an adventure on the side, perhaps," she began. "Still, I realize that I almost died tonight, and that a lonely miracle saved me. However, I can't depend on a miracle to come around and save me every time." She looked to Chris for help.
Awww! Man, Chris probably re-read that paragraph fifty times before he finally moved on. Gotta savor the moment.
"It's your decision, Juliana," Chris said to her. "Do you want to go back to the outer part of Eagleland Island, or would you prefer to travel through the inner part of the island instead?"
I do believe he said that already.
Juliana placed her right hand on her forehead and sighed. "My head hurts," she said softly.
Odd. She forgot to close her eyes gently.
"This has been too much for one afternoon. I think I need to go back to the hotel and take a nap, or something," she told Chris. "Maybe it'll help to recover my PP as well - I have to realize that I have PP now, if I used that psychic ability." She smiled and uttered the words once more. "PSI Comet Alpha - the miracle that saved my life." She paused. "I really should go back to the hotel."

Chris nodded. "If you want to return to the hotel, then that's what shall happen," he responded. "Let's get started, then. It'll be a while before we get back to the outer part of the island, out of the EarthBound universe."

"Wait a second," Juliana spoke up. "We're in Winters, remember? How will we get to the rest of the places around here? Winters is an isolated country!" She stopped for a moment to take a breath. "Do you have an idea, Chris?"
Um... how the hell did you get to Winters in the first place? I do remember asking that question 250 posts ago. It remains unanswered.

But more interesting: PSI322 has given up and decided to just hang out with Chris and hope help arrives. It's interesting because she could just quit writing on the Gathering--reasonable given what all the other writers are up to--but instead is humoring Chris. I surmise this is the point in time at which PSI322 was actually growing fond of the guy. Attention is always nice.
